Rescue Is Just The Beginning

We aim to do this through the following avenues:
Rescue. Restoration. Empowerment. Protection. Being a Voice.
We firmly believe rescue efforts are important, vital even, but they are only the beginning of the work. The problem of human-trafficking is complex in its very nature and because of this, we have designed a system that allows us to address the issue on five main fronts. These fronts don’t exist in isolation, no single approach is a total solution in itself, indeed they all must work together for us to see our vision become a reality. Here is a run-down of our five approaches and what purpose they serve.
This is the crucial first step. Children are bound either by physical or psychological chains and our rescue agents’ job is to bring these children out of the darkness of exploitation.
One of two ways our agents operate is by posing as customers in bars, brothels and other sexually exploitative environments. Here our agents seek to build the trust of each child in order to offer them a way out and bring them into safety. Additionally, our rescue agents work in partnership with local law enforcement and government agencies in order to rescue groups of underaged victims, close down establishments known to be exploiting children and see those involved be held accountable.
If rescue is the starter’s gun, then restoration is the marathon. Children need to be restored mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, and given life skills and vocational training to be able to live and thrive independently.
This is a medium-to-long term process that addresses every facet of a rescued child’s life. Aftercare support teams work alongside them ensuring they are able to sleep safely, receive education, vocational training, pastoral care, life skills, healthcare and, most importantly, love, through our various restoration and reintegration programs.
We strive to bring children out of darkness, but we’d rather they weren’t there in the first place.
Through our Prevention Program, we identify and care for at-risk children – often siblings of rescued children – until they are of age to safely and successfully become contributing members of their community.
We believe prevention is better than cure, so we aim to empower rural communities to be thriving, healthy, safe places for women and children to live, where families are unified and build each other up.
As a result, our aftercare support teams work within local communities to provide education in areas including human trafficking, child protection, women’s rights, online safety, sustainable living, and building resilience and hope for the future. It is our passion to see communities empowered with the knowledge and tools necessary to not only safeguard themselves from the dangers of exploitation but also to grow and flourish.
WE ARE A VOICE
When you’re in what seems to be a helpless situation, it can feel like no-one is listening.
Our staff and volunteers in our Funding Nations (USA, Australia and New Zealand) work to tell the stories of these children – both the horrific reality but also beautiful remedies – to raise awareness and resources to combat sex trafficking abroad.
Together, we all can make a difference by bringing the problem of human trafficking into the light. Your voice matters and has the power to change countless lives across the world. Your partnership, advocacy and volunteer support are just a few of the ways you can stand alongside us and make your voice count in the lives of these precious children.
Each of the above approaches serves a specific purpose, and when we utilise all five approaches together, the work we do becomes more fruitful, long-lasting, and ultimately helps us to better serve the children in our care.
Over the next few weeks we will expand on these five points and take you deeper into our methods, our operations, and more importantly, our heart to see freedom reign.
If there’s a particular approach that appeals to you then we invite you to personally get involved. You can invest financially in our rescue efforts by donating $1,500 to Rescue a Child, you can invest in our restoration efforts by Sponsoring a Home, and you can be a voice by becoming an advocate or holding a Jewellery Party. Partner with us today and become a voice for these children!
