Where We Work

Our Work In India

India is home to over 1 billion people and has one of the fastest growing economies in the world today. Yet, millions of its people still live in extreme poverty – many of them being orphaned children.

India is a country that has been influenced by many different cultures, ethnic groups, dynasties and religions. The Roman Empire, the Kushan Empire, the Gupta Dynasty, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity have all impacted India over the centuries.

Britain had its first outpost in India in 1619 and by 1850 had gained almost complete control of the entire country. Over time, the Indian majority wanted freedom from British rule and in 1947, gained its independence. Since this time, India has seen its share of violence arising from religious clashes, terrorism and territorial disputes.

Today, India has one of the fastest growing economies in the world; however, millions of its people still live in extreme poverty.

HOW WE ARE HELPING END SEXUAL EXPLOITATION

We’re offering kids a much needed education and the financial support required to avoid vulnerable situations. And we’re providing them a home and family where they can grow up in a safe, loving environment.
