Protect the vulnerable
Many children who are pushed into human trafficking come from poverty-stricken communities, where education is scarce and illegal drugs rampant. In most cases, at-risk families can not afford to send their children to school. Consequently, this sends their children into the workforce with little to no qualifications for a paying job. This makes them vulnerable to sex traffickers who lure, bribe and falsely promise good jobs. Instead, these evil criminals enslave children into forced prostitution.
Unfortunately, there are even cases where a child’s parents are desperate enough financially to push their kids into a life of prostitution.
Destiny Rescue helps children caught in poverty, offering them a positive alternative to their seemingly hopeless situation.
The Bible, in Psalm chapter 82, verses three to four, says, “do justice to the weak (poor) and fatherless; maintain the rights of the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; rescue them out of the hand of the wicked.”
This means we have a responsibility to help protect vulnerable people, including at-risk children and families from human traffickers.
Destiny Rescue has stepped up to the challenge by offering prevention programs to at-risk children and families. We help children in the world, who are poor and stuck in the sex trade, go to school. We pay for a child’s tuition, books, school supplies and uniform. If a family’s situation is severe, we can pay for meals too. Each family’s needs are different and need individual assessment. Destiny Rescue’s social workers do this. Sometimes, if there are no schools near a family, Destiny Rescue will help relocate a child to our safe, prevention homes. Here, they will get an education, food and medical care.
Destiny Rescue also runs an after-school learning program to help children who have fallen behind in class because they could not afford to go to school consistently or have dropped out. This helps them graduate, giving them an opportunity to reach their dreams!
