44 rescued in Nepal
33 women and 11 children have been rescued in Nepal.
Among the survivors is a 13-year-old girl who met her trafficker, a 44-year-old female, only two days before being lured across the border.
The child lived in poverty, her family’s income less than $1.40USD per day. A woman befriended her and, after asking about her life, offered her an easy job at her house across the border. She promised to send her to school and care for her like a daughter.
After our agents intercepted the young girl alongside her trafficker as they attempted to leave Nepal. While we counseled her on human trafficking she revealed that the woman had coached her to lie if questioned at the border. The girl has been reunited with her father.

Most of those rescued had been forced to sell their bodies just to survive. Others were rescued from sex crimes or being sexually exploited by a human trafficker for money. The youngest was only 9 years old, and three of the survivors were boys. All of the survivors have been enrolled in our Community Care Program, where they’ll learn to maneuver through the trauma they endured and be equipped to live free.
