Raid rescues four from sex trafficking in the Philippines
Three children and one young woman were rescued during a raid in the Philippines.
The young woman was 22 years old, and the girls were all three between 13 and 15 years. Because of this raid with police, they have been pulled out of a trade that, tragically, often results in decades of exploitation. Many exploited women began as children just like these three. We are working closely with the Filipino government to stop the cycle of exploitation. Read more on our blog here.

Border agents stopped traffickers from luring 68 people out of Nepal.

Nearly three quarters of the victims met their traffickers online, mostly on Facebook. The criminals built relationships with their targets and then, after figuring out their needs, offered them romantic relationships, false jobs or even trips to see relatives that lived across the border. Thanks to our border agents, these people will never see what REALLY awaited them on the other side.

All were enduring sexual exploitation just to survive. Only three were able to attend school; the rest had been forced to drop out. Among the survivors are six young mothers with babies of their own.
The future will be challenging, but our hope is that they’ll be prepared to face those challenges as free girls and women.
While enrolled in our programs, survivors have the opportunity to reengage their education, either in school or skills training. Last month, a survivor from Uganda said, “Now I have hope. I have learned more about God, and I have a skill (tailoring)!”

Networks of informants in rural villages of South Asia located the children. Most were forced to sell themselves just to survive, while others lived in homes where a family member participated in sex work, putting the child at extreme risk.
Now, these brave survivors are taking their first steps toward a safer life. Besides joining a supportive community in a safe, secure home, the girls will participate in trauma resilience training and have the chance to pursue job training that will help them stay free. While most of the survivors were forced to sell their bodies to survive, four of the kids were being trafficked by the adults who should’ve been caring for them. We are currently working to provide these children safe, caring homes where they can learn to be kids again.
