12 children rescued across three countries in South East Asia
Twelve children, ages eight to 17, have been rescued. Five joined our community care program.
In Thailand, two girls, ages eight and nine were rescued from sexual exploitation.
Five girls, ages 13 to 17 were rescued and joined our community care program in Cambodia. One 13-year-old girl was rescued from a bar. The others were about to leave their village to begin work in similar establishments. Our agents discovered their situation during village canvassing and were able to take action before the children entered the sex industry. Now enrolled in our programs, the children will all receive care that specifically addresses the vulnerabilities that were pressuring them into exploitation with a customized freedom plan.
Five girls in another country in South East Asia were rescued from trafficking and reunited with their families.

International traffickers lured their victims, who included nine children, with the promise of good jobs in the tech industry. Instead, they were trapped in a large compound and forced to make scam calls. Such victims face inhumane work hours and the threat of physical torture for underperformance.
Our team helped police investigate the compound before the operation and interview survivors after the rescue was complete. All the survivors have returned home. You can read more about “pig butchering” on our blog.

The kids, who included eight girls and four boys, were rescued from various types of sexual exploitation. Three of the children were being sold for sex by adult traffickers. Three more faced sexual abuse, while another two were forced to sell their bodies just so they could afford food. Four of the kids, all under 11 years old, lived with someone who participated in sex work, putting them at dire risk of exploitation.
Such a wide variety of trauma requires careful, personal help from loving caseworkers. We’re grateful that all of these children are recovering in our local Community Care Program.
