47 girls rescued in Uganda
14 have entered our residential home and 33 enrolled in community care.
The survivors are 13 to 17 years old. All were being sexually exploited in order to survive. One child began selling herself in order to afford sanitary pads.
Children trapped in this lifestyle live in constant danger. Of the 47 rescued, two had been gang-raped, a handful noted they were beaten by customers who refused to pay and one was ambushed and robbed while walking home one night.
Their lives look drastically different now. They no longer live in constant danger. Today, they are receiving food, counseling, access to education and the loving care of our reintegration staff.

While most of the survivors were forced to sell their bodies to survive, four of the kids were being trafficked by the adults who should’ve been caring for them. We are currently working to provide these children safe, caring homes where they can learn to be kids again. We work with community leaders to find and vet local families that will give these kids the love they need. To read about one girl who benefited from this program, click here:
