66 souls rescued at the Nepal border
66 people, including 24 children, were rescued over the course of June and July in Nepal.
One of the women rescued had her 4-year-old daughter with her, who invariably would have suffered the same fate as her mother. Two brothers, just 9 and 14 years old, were also rescued from a man claiming to be their uncle. All the people were lured out of their home country by organized criminals with the false promise of good jobs; they were then forced them to work under the constant threat of barbaric punishment. We collaborated with local authorities to rescue the survivors and reunify them with their families.

Nearly three quarters of the victims met their traffickers online, mostly on Facebook. The criminals built relationships with their targets and then, after figuring out their needs, offered them romantic relationships, false jobs or even trips to see relatives that lived across the border. Thanks to our border agents, these people will never see what REALLY awaited them on the other side.
