45 rescued in Nepal
Forty-two girls and women ages 14 to 40 were rescued along Nepal's border. Our agents also rescued three survivors from sexual abuse and labor trafficking.
One of the survivors rescued at the border was a mother traveling with her young children, ages two and five. She was working a hard labor job to provide for herself and her children after being abandoned by her husband.
She met her trafficker by answering a call from a wrong number. He wooed her with promises of love and family stability and attempted to lure her out of the country. After our agents rescued her at the border, he shut off his phone and became unreachable.
